Community FAQs
Start a petition stating the issue and the proposed new speed limit, have that signed by as many people as possible in the area that you would like the speed limit evaluated and lowered. Present that petition to the Town Board at the monthly Town Board meeting. Town Board will review request and must then adopt a resolution at the Town Board meeting requesting the change and forward paperwork to Oneida County. If Oneida County agrees with submission to review speed limit it will do a traffic study and decide on the request, this process usually takes a few months.
Complete the Codes Complaint Form on the Codes Enforcement Page and email to the Westmoreland Codes Enforcement officer at [email protected]. With questions on completing the form submission call the Codes Office at 315-853-8001 ext. 4.
